About the Project

An iOS App that helps people learn to write code. Useful for a range of levels, whether you are a beginner or are advanced this app has something for you! Search through topics for what you want to view. Not sure you are finding what you are looking for? You can preview the video by interacting with it or by watching a Gif. Now you know if you are interested in seeing how it was created. While watching you can check out the code snippet written in the video and take notes. Found a content provider that uploads material that you like? you can follow them! Don't miss any of their videos by making sure to turn on your notifications. Use this app for entertainment or to learn!

Learning how to write code is a difficult task. It is even more difficult when you get stuck trying to figure out how to solve a problem. You search youtube for answers, only to watch a video that does not quite give you the answers you were in search of.
The Problem
The Goal
Create an app that allows people to learn how to code by saving them time. Preview exactly what a video will be showing you before selecting it, in the interactive preview/Gif screen. See the actual code being used in the video, while the video is also playing. Take notes and save notes in the app.
Why
A key part of learning is researching! I personally found that I went down rabbit holes researching, only to not come up with a solution. It was very time consuming watching videos of what I believed would teach me what I needed to know (and still be as confused). This is an app I wish I would have had when learning to code, and it is one thing I know would have helped tremendously. Being a part of creating something that can be so useful and alleviate stress for many users is something i am proud of.

Research
WireFrame

When dealing with a larger project, I like to make these look as close to the actual product as possible.  Including descriptions of what each detail does and where things lead to. This is my favorite thing about designing because it is when you get to be really creative and also mindful of functionality.

MindMap

This Map is a visual of every view controller and all of the actions that are possible to be taken within each view controller. This also helps me see clearly what every screen should do and, mapping out all of the routes and actions within the app.

Flow Chart

With this flow chart I only outlined the order in which each view controller will be presented. In doing this I can make sure the flow in which each view controller is triggered makes sense with how a user would expect to navigate through-out the app. Also to make sure every view controller is accounted for.

Outcome

Anticipate to launch Fall 2021

I learned a lot working on this project. It was my first time really doing UX Design for a project that was not my own. Working with two engineers gave me great experience on expectations as far as what are realistic requests and designs. This app was very user focused because I was able to put myself in their shoes, being that I was exactly in their position when I was learning how to write code.
