About the Brand
Women's clothing brand want to expand on their availability. They sell in Nordstrom, Macy's, Saks OFF 5th, Lord & Taylor but want their own website for their customers to purchase directly from.
The Problem
The Goal
Showcase the beautiful clothing in a compelling way for modern women. Represent the brand with an appealing, fresh and cool design.
Why
I love fashion and putting together outfits, so when an opportunity to design a website for a clothing brand came my way I eagerly agreed to take on the project.
The Process

Who are the customers?

What do they need for a good shopping experience?

New York women's affordable luxury brand of dresses that are flirty, and fun. Flattering designs in beautiful prints and fabric.

Mood Board

Mood Boards help me see how certain images look showcased. ( is it a strong photo that can stand on its own? Does the photo speak to me)? It also helps me see if selected colors work well with the images. and the clothing the models are wearing. Being that this is launching for spring I was inspired by the image of the bundle of flowers (center image of the mood board) and wanted that to be the background. Playing off of that image led me to use dark greens and light greens accents throughout the website, added the Purple for a hint of femininity, the grey for a neutral color, and the light grey for a clean feel.

Mariela has long work days, interacts with many people throughout her day. She loves shopping at Julia Jordan because the dresses are made from such good quality that she is able to maintain them in mint condition. The clothing is comfortable enough for her to sit through hours of meetings and fashionable enough that she can meet up with her friends after work for a late dinner. On weekends she heads downtown to shop and take a stroll though Central Park, feeling effortlessly beautiful.

Mariela is busy and always on the go, she needs to shop at websites that are mobile friendly. She likes to see the new items showcased front and center to keep her in the know. She needs to be able to navigate through the website easily and checkout quickly.

  • Must use Shopify as platform

  • Must have quick shopping options throughout homepage

  • Incorporate the floral images throughout website

  • Reduce brightness of photos

Social : Instagram

Created Instagram posts to help promote the new website. Their IG is set up so that one post is actually three individual posts.

This was my first time working with an established brand. My main focus was making sure I met all of my deliverables. Really taking into consideration the users needs and the clients expectation was key to successfully launching their first website.
